Lina Manousogiannaki
BIO
Lina Manousogiannaki (1976)
lives and works between Brussels and the Sfakia region on the island of Crete, Greece.
After completing a Masters degree in archaeology, in the University of Crete,
she concentrated on her artistic practice as a photographer.
First as a self-taught photographer and later,
through her studies
in the
Academie de Dessin et des Arts Visuels in Molenbeek, Brussels.
During a two year residency in the Museum of Tapestry
and Weaving in Tournai, Belgium, she expanded
her field of interests into a more plastic approach of photography.
She has participated in a variety of national and international exhibitions.
Her work has been published in several art, as well as scientific reviews.
She is currently (2024-2025) Artist in Residence in the Catholic University of Louvain La Neuve in Belgium,
where she is working on a project exploring the trajectory of the Object,
under the title The social life of a thing;
researching contemporary material culture, in collaboration with the faculties of Archaeology and History of Art.
